Hey dudes. I'm finally updating because I am finally (almost) caught up with my schoolwork. Today I didn't have an HSA and it was awesome going into school late. Well, I guess right now I want to talk about Beach Jam because it was awesome. First, Friday afternoon D picked me up and we drove to the Clapp's house where we got all the junk packed into the truck. We had Gummi Bears (Taste the Value) and ended up throwing them at each other's cars while stopped at stoplights. It was frickin' hilarious, especially because one of the Gummi Bears stuck onto the car until we ate dinner-- which was like an hour and a half of driving at 65-mile-an-hour speeds. Then we drive for about 3 and a half more hours until Mary had to pee really bad. We stopped at the side ofthe road and she started peeing behind some tall grasses until I decided that I, too, had to go. Then Becky and her mom came and we were all peeing on the side of the road in the rain. That was relly funny. Then we got to Wildwood, where it was raining. We haul the tent bag down to our spot on the beach all the frick down the beach. We then start setting up the tent, and have a lot of trouble. It takes us a long time because it's wet and dark, so the tarp and the inside of the tent are soaked. Then we get to walk a huge distance all the way back to the car to get all of our gear. Everything is really awkward and heavy and hard to carry across the sand-- especially when wearing sandals. So, we finally get our stuff there, then we have to set up our beds, pee, brush our teeth, and change into our pajamas. Naturally, we're all talking because we kids, not only kids, but girls. They're all like "Please be quiet" and we're all like "Shut up, freak", but we don't really say it. We finally get to bed at like 1:30 in the morning, but I'm not really sure cause I didn't wear a watch. So we all go to sleep fairly quickly, then at 6 in the morning we awake to a really strong wind blowing in the side of the tent that I was sleeping on. So we all pile out of the tent to hold it up until we can get it staked in. The wind is blowing really hard and I am in my pajamas and it's freezing. So we finally finish that, we all pile back into the tent and try to sleep. People keep walking by and giving advice about why our tent is blowing over like, "Your rain fly isn't secure-- that's probably the reason it's blowing up." and junk like that. Then later, it's raining for like, the whole morning. We sit in the tent and get some serious cabin fever (East Germany, West Germany, the Berlin Wall). Finally, the rain lets up and we head out to the Boardwalk to play on the rides. We have a relly great day and come back to the tent for some rest and I take a two hour nap, which was awesome. Then, we go out to have an Old-Time Photo taken where we dress up like hoes. It was so much fun. That evening we all pitched in and bought a Bloomin' onion and Fries. It was so much fun. Our leaders are awesome because they trust us to act like adults and walk around by ourselves. We had a great day, especially when we "met" Chris and I had my first time on the Gravitron, which was awesome. Then we go to sleep and actually get a full 8 hours, which was awesome. The next morning we packed up, carried things back, then headed towards home. We had so much fun in the car ride back. Mary and Becky are hilarious. Then I came home and finished my Geometry Projectin time for tomorrow. Wow, I'm tired after this whole long thing. I hope everyone is happy with this, because I worked hard and it took me a while. Phew. 5.15.2002
I have so much work to do that I haven't updated until forever and might be able to if I get all my junk done today. Barf. 5.09.2002
I'm trying really hard to read Profiles in Courage, but it is so boring that I keep falling asleep and waking up at 2 in the morning with the book next to my head and the light on. Oops, have to go, will explain later. Well, here'd the update on what's happening with all those projects. ~Solomon Islands- gave report, thought class was amused, thought McT liked it ~Political Cartoon- turned it in, no word yet ~BioLit- have 5 floaters, wrote final article tonight, turn it in tomorrow ~Taming of the Shrew- Eric turned it in, I feel bad because he wrote it and i just helped him formulate the ideas. This computer is being weird, so I'm going to have to write in a series of posts. Sorry! 5.06.2002
Ah, Shawn Hunter, you are so full of wisdom. Sorry for my lack of updates but I have been busy with school. We have like, a million projects for school. These include: ~a report on the Solomon Islands ~a political cartoon thingy ~BioLit ~English Taming of the Shrew/10 things I hate about you thing ~English independent reading ~English Dandelion Wine reading ~Geometry house project ~NSL Profiles in Courage crap The one of all of these that makes me mad the most is Profiles in Courage. John F. Kennedy didn't even write that stupid book. Why do I have to waste my valuable time reading it? Speaking of valuable time, I'm wasting so much of it updating right now. So, bye 5.01.2002
